headshot.jpg

J. M. Oak is a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania based poet who lives with his partner and two cats. His debut work, "As The Earth Lies Still: poems" explores themes of depression, mental health, trauma, love, and the everyday human struggle and experience. His second collection, "Sounds of the Hummingbird" continues these themes and also touches on themes of sobriety and spirituality. Through his work, he hopes to inspire, heal, and provide a light in the dark for those who are dealing with mental health issues. When not at home writing, you may find him taking walks by the river or enjoying a good book.
